BASEBALL HANDS OWLS FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

The Chargers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as first basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) singled home Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.), who had hit a two out double and went to third on a passed ball, in the top of the first frame
Dominican added a run in their half of the fourth as freshman second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) hit his first collegiate home run to give the team a 2-0 advantage.
DC extended their lead to 3-0 in the fifth as Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) scored on a wildpitch.
The Owls put two runs on the board in the seventh stanza on a groundout and single for the eventual 3-2 final score.
Junior Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) improved to 1-0 on the season in 6 2/3 innings of work, allowing two runs on five hits and two strikeouts.
Reliever Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) recorded his first save of the year in 2 1/3 innings of work.
Lopez went 2-2 in the game with two walks.
The Chargers return to action on March 8th when they travel to non-conference opponent, the University of New Haven.
