WOMEN'S LACROSSE REMAIN UNDEFEATED IN CONFERENCE PLAY

West Caldwell, N.J. (4/4/17)  The Dominican College women's lacrosse team remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating host, Caldwell University, 19-14 this afternoon in a game played at Essex Valley Field.

With the win, Dominican improves to 5-3 overall and remain undefeated in conference play with a record of 5-0.

The first half saw 24 total goals scored with the Lady Chargers holding the 14-10 edge.  Senior Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) gave DC their biggest lead of the half as she netted the unassisted goal with 3:08 left in the half to give her team the 14-7 advantage.

The Lady Chargers used a 4-0 run in the second half to make the score 18-11 with under 20 minutes left and went on to the 19-14 victory.

Dominican held the edge in both draw controls, 19-16, and ground balls, 31-27.  The team was a perfect 5-5 in clear attempts in the first half and went a total 9-14 for the game.

June, Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) and Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) all led Dominican with four goals a-piece, while Fox and Fitzgerald both added two assists.

Attacker Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) recorded three goals and Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) netted two goals.

Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) scored one goal and one assist, while Jeanie Peluso (Stony Point, N.Y.) recorded one goal.

Goalie Cara Moran (Tomkins Cove, N.Y.) made seven saves.
