FITZGERALD AND HEEGAN RECORD CAREER HIGHS IN VICTORY OVER HOLY FAMILY

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/8/17)  The Dominican College women's lacrosse team downed the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 26-12, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Senior Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) and freshman Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) both had career highs in the game with six goals a-piece.  Both also contributed one assist each for a total of seven game points.

Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) added four goals and two assists for six points, while Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) also scored four goals.

Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) recorded three goals and two assists for five points and Jeanie Peluso (Stony Point, N.Y.) netted two goals and three assists.

Taylor Sobel (Oradell, N.J.) had the other Lady Charger goal and added one assist in the win.

Dominican went 10-13 in clear attempts, while collecting 24 draw controls and 21 ground balls.

With the win, Dominican improves to 6-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

The Lady Chargers will host Assumption College this coming Monday afternoon at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
