Suffern, N.Y. (4/30/16) The Dominican College baseball squad's offense produced 34 hits in two games to down the visiting Devils from the University of the Sciences, 16-2 and 12-2, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header played at Rockland Community College.

Suffern, N.Y. (4/30/16) The Dominican College baseball squad's offense produced 34 hits in two games to down the visiting Devils from the University of the Sciences, 16-2 and 12-2, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header played at Rockland Community College.
Game One: DC scored three runs in the first, added two more in the third frame and tacked on nine more runs in the fifth en route to the 16-2 win.
Designated hitter Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) had a team leading four hits and scored two runs in the win.
Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) and William Seymour (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) each contributed three hits and scored a combined four runs and three RBis.
Second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) had two hits and scored three runs, while Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) and Joseph Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) also had two hits each.
Starter Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) got the win in seven innings of work, allowing one run on four hits and collecting nine strikeouts to improve to 2-4 on the season.
Game Two: The Devils struck first for a run in the first, but Dominican countered with three runs in the second and third stanzas to take a 6-1 lead en route to a 12-2 win.
Lopez paced Dominican with three hits, scored two runs and added one RBI.
Gray had two hits and scored two runs, while Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) also had two hits, recorded a team high three RBIs and scored two runs. Decker also finished with two hits.
Ozuna had a two-run home run over the right center field fence in eighth where Dominican scored four runs.
Nick Bird (Rotterdam, N.Y.) improved to 2-1 on the season in eight innings of work, allowing two runs (one earned) on 11 hits and five strikeouts.
With the sweep, Dominican improves to 17-26 overall and 10-10 in CACC Play.
