Uniondale, N.Y. (4/2/16) The Dominican College baseball squad lost a non-conference double-header to host, Molloy College, this afternoon in games played at Mitchel Field. The Lions won both games, 4-1, to drop the Chargers record to 7-17 on the season.

Uniondale, N.Y. (4/2/16) The Dominican College baseball squad lost a non-conference double-header to host, Molloy College, this afternoon in games played at Mitchel Field. The Lions won both games, 4-1, to drop the Chargers record to 7-17 on the season.
Game One: MC brought home a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Chargers tied the score in the fourth as left fielder Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) followed a double down the left field line by Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) with a single down the right field line to plate Soto and make the score 1-1.
The Lions countered with two runs in the bottom stanza and added a run in the seventh for the 4-1 win.
Starter Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) suffered the loss (1-3) in 6 2/3 innings of work, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and five strikeouts.
Soto and Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J) both had two hits in the loss.
Game Two: Molloy scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning for the early lead. Dominican put a run on the board in the fourth as Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) came home on a Lion error which allowed designated hitter Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) to reach base.
MC runs in the fifth and sixth stanzas gave them the 4-1 lead and eventual win.
Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) took the loss (0-1) in five innings of work, allowing three runs on nine hits and three strikeouts.
The Chargers are set to be in action on Monday afternoon as they host Felician College.
