BASEBALL PARTICIPATES IN MEALS ON WHEELS OF ROCKLAND COUNTY SENIOR BOOT CAMP
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/2/24) The Dominican University Baseball team volunteered their services to the Meals on Wheels Rockland County Senior Boot Camp on March 21st from 9:30am – 12:30 pm at the Hennessy Center at Dominican University.
The "Senior Boot Camp" is an event that initially began in 2012 and ran annually until 2019 when COVID forced the event to stop. There were over 125 Meals on Wheels Senior Activity Center participants at the event. Meals on Wheels Rockland County is comprised of four centers across the county, Clarkstown-Pearl River, Nyack, Orangetown and Ramapo.
The seniors participated in ten events, including cup stacking, duck memory game, soccer kicking, flickin' chicken and maze game. Senior Boot Camp is a fun way for Senior Activity Center members to come together and stretch their bodies and minds. It encourages exercise and movement within our seniors, enjoy some friendly competition and definitely brings smiles!
"Our members of meals on wheels love this event, not only the games but the interaction they have with Dominican University Baseball Team," said Director of Operation for Meals on Wheels Rockland County Amy Bianco. "The baseball players helped with the games and lead the way for our members to do the electric slide. Thank You Dominican University and the young men on the baseball team."
