CHARGERS UPEND RAPTORS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/15/24) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team won their second consecutive match on their home court over the Raptors of Bard College.
The Chargers improve to 4-6 overall on the season while the Raptors fall to 4-5 overall.
The Chargers rolled in the opening set and took a 1-0 match lead after a 25-14 victory. Dominican took a 2-0 advantage after using an 8-3 run to end the second set 25-18. The Chargers completed the sweep after outscoring the Raptors 19-10 to solidify the 25-16 win in the third set.
Ayden Shaw (Centennial, Colo.) and Jacob Davidson (Bloomington, Ind.) combined for 21 kills for the Chargers. Shaw led the way in kills for the Chargers with 11 while Davidson finished with 10.
Phinehas Wiley (Cedarburg, Wis.) finished with seven kills, nine points, and four digs. Gavin Tate (Appleton, Wis.) added five kills and three service aces while Luke Koster (Geneva, Ill.) added a team-high 32 assists. Koster and Dennis Ancheta (Aurora, Colo.) also finished with six digs.
The Chargers return to action next Wednesday when they host Russell Sage College on Coach Baxter Court at 7:00 PM.
