THE LADY CHARGERS FALL TO LIONS
Rockville Centre, N.Y. (3/15/18) The Lady Chargers Women’s Lacrosse team fell in a non-conference game to the Molloy College Lions.
Rockville Centre, N.Y. (3/15/18) The Lady Chargers Women's Lacrosse team fell in a non-conference game to the Molloy College Lions. The Lady Chargers, now 1-5, finished their non-conference portion of the schedule on Thursday.
The Lions got on the board first with four straight goals to start the game. Jeanie Peluso (Stony Point, NY) ended the run and put the Lady Chargers on the board to make the score 4-1. Molloy extended their lead out to 8-1 by scoring the next four goals.
Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, NY) scored the second goal for the Lady Chargers to end the Lion's second four goal run of the first half. The Lions scored the game's next three goals and Jenna Fox () scored the cut the deficit to 11-3. The Lions ended the first half strong by scoring three more goals to extend out to a 14-3 lead.
Heegan started the scoring in the second half for her second goal of the game. The Lions scored four straight goals for an 18-4 lead. Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, NY) scored the final goal of the game for Dominican to cut the deficit to 18-5. The Lions added one more goal before the end of the game to make the game 19-5 which would eventually become the final score.
Alayna Heegan finished with a multi-goal game in the loss. Jessica Markowitz scored five goals for the Lions while teammate Brianna Wilson also scored five goals and added four assists in the win. With the win, the Lions improve to 3-3.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday March 21st when they host the Caldwell University Cougars for their conference opener and home opener of the 2018 season.
