Manchester, N.H. (5/18/17) The #7 Dominican College baseball team fell to #2 University of New Haven, 5-2, this afternoon in game two of the 2017 NCAA Division II Baseball East Regional Tournament, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University on Penmen Field.

A three-run fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from UNH's Matt Chamberlain, helped lead the team to the win.
New Haven got on the scoreboard in their first at-bat on a solo blast from Nick Perrelli.
DC took a 2-1 lead by scratching across an unearned run in the top of the fourth. Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) singled to right center to start the inning, moved to second on a one-out grounder, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a two-out wild pitch.
Starter Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) allowed four runs on seven hits in seven innings of work for the Chargers, but took the loss to fall to 7-6.
Nicholas Galese (Totowa, N.J.) came in to pitch the eighth inning.
Dominican (21-28) will now face #6 Southern Connecticut State University in an elimination game tomorrow morning at 11am on Penmen Field. The Owls lost to #3 St. Thomas Aquinas College, 8-3, in the opening game.
