GREYHOUNDS TOP CHARGERS
Worcester, Mass. (9/11/17) The Chargers traveled to Assumption College on Monday to take on the Greyhounds in seek of their first win of the young season. The Chargers played hard in all three sets of the match, but dropped the first set by four points, the second set by three points, and the last by twelve.

The Chargers, now 0-6 (0-0 CACC), have yet to play a match at home this season but will start their home portion and conference portion of the schedule this Wednesday. In the loss, Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, NY) led the way with nine kills and 13 digs. Three of the teams points were earned on service points.
Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, PA) scored nine points and recorded five kills and eight digs while teammate Essence Boyd (Peekskill, NY) had three kills, and four digs but also recorded 17 assists which led the way as the rest of the team had only four assists combined for a total of 21 as a team. Giovanna Del Sordo (Springfield, NJ) led the team in digs with a total of 17.
As for the Greyhounds, with the win they improve to 2-7 (0-0 NE-10) and will open their conference play on Tuesday September 19th when they visit New Haven. Greyhounds senior Olivia Burke led the way for the team with 10.5 points, 6 kills, and 7 digs. Kellie Smith was right behind Burke with 8 points, 5 kills, and 6 digs for the Greyhounds. Kiki Romanik and Addison Stafford both led the team in assists as Romanik recorded 12 and Stafford with 10.
As the season continues, the Lady Chargers strive to earn their first win of the year and will try to do so at home against The University of the Sciences. This will not only be their first home match but also their first meeting in the CACC conference.
