CHARGERS FALL TO COUGARS IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION
Pomona, N.Y. (4/21/17) The Dominican College baseball team fell in non-conference action to the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University, 3-2 in 13 innings, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Palisades Credit Union Park.
Pomona, N.Y. (4/21/17) The Dominican College baseball team fell in non-conference action to the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University, 3-2 in 13 innings, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Palisades Credit Union Park.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when DC scored two runs on first basemen's Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) single to center field.
Caldwell countered with runs in the sixth and eight frames to tie the score, 2-2.
An RBI single to left field in the top of the 13th stanza gave Caldwell the 3-2 advantage and eventual win.
Bartolomei and second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) each had two hits in the loss, while Bartolomei finished iwth two runs batted in.
Reliever Jordan Bernacet (Schencectady, N.Y.) took the loss (0-1) in six innings of relieve, allowing two runs on six hits and four strikeouts.
Following the loss, Dominican drops to 13-21 overall on the season.
