DOMINICAN COMPLETES SWEEP OVER POST UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/6/23) The Dominican University New York softball team earned a sweep over Post University this afternoon in conference action.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/6/23) The Dominican University New York softball team earned a sweep over Post University this afternoon in conference action.
Dominican defeated the Eagles 2-1 in game one and then completed the sweep with a 6-3 win in game two.
Dominican improves to 7-23 overall and 3-9 in the CACC after the sweep. The Eagles fall to 8-22 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
Game One: Emily Baxter (Bucoda, WA) recorded the win on the mound for the Lady Chargers after pitching a complete seven innings and earning 11 strikeouts.
Baxter's only allowed run came in the top of the fourth inning after the Eagles rallied and Caitlin DeAngelis singled up the middle for the 1-0 lead.
Dominican answered in the bottom half of the fourth inning after a lead off single by Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) and Giovanna Salcido (Diamond Bar, Calif.) followed with a two-run homer to put the Lady Chargers in front 2-1.
Baxter allowed zero runs over the next three innings to secure the game one victory.
Game Two: Dominican jumped out in front to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Salicido drove in the game's first run after reaching on a fielder's choice.
Jalaeya LaPorte (Sylmar, Calif.) ripped a double down the left field line which brought home the second run of the inning.
The Eagles answered in the top half of the second inning when Allyson Wallauer led off with a solo homer to get Post on the board. After Lily Tomasiello singled, Caitlin DeAngelis hit a two-run homer to give the Eagles the lead.
Post loaded the bases later in the inning but Dominican's starting pitcher Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) held the Eagles to three runs.
Dominican answered in the bottom of the second inning when Walker crushed a three-run homer to left center to give the Lady Chargers a 5-3 lead.
After back to back singles to begin the bottom of the fourth inning, Chloe McIntosh (Menifee, Calif.) added an RBI-single to extend the lead to 6-3.
Emily Baxter entered the game in relief in the third inning and threw five shutout innings and recorded five strikeouts to record the win.
Emma Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) added a team-high three hits including a double and scored two runs.
Dominican will return to action next Wednesday, April 12th when they travel to Alliance University for a conference doubleheader.
