STRONG THIRD QUARTER HELPS LIFT LADY CHARGERS OVER ALLIANCE UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/17/23) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball team defeated CACC north division rival Alliance University by a score of 71-56.

The Lady Chargers used a big third quarter to take control of the game and secure the win. Dominican improved to 12-7 (7-2 CACC) after the win.
Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) led the way for Dominican with 19 points including a team-high five three-pointers and added four rebounds.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) and Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) each contributed 14 points. Suarez also recorded five rebounds and two assists while Mills added six rebounds and six assists which were team-highs.
Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished with 11 points while Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pulled down a team-high 10 boards.
Alliance led most of the first quarter and took a 20-12 lead into the second quarter. The Lady Chargers played a strong second quarter and took the lead but AU answered with a 10-5 run to end the first half.
Alliance led by nine points with just over five minutes to play in the third quarter. The Lady Chargers ended the third quarter on a 19-0 run including three consecutive three-pointers and took a ten-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Dominican never lost the lead in the fourth quarter on their way to the victory. Teklits and Mills combined for all 17 points in the fourth quarter for the Lady Chargers.
Alliance was led by Raquel Crooke-Losada who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. Nia Lariosa also added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers will return to action on Wednesday, January 25th when they travel to Caldwell University for a CACC contest with the Cougars at 5:30 PM.
