Myrtle Beach, S.C. (2/23/20) The Southern New Hampshire University baseball team took two non-conference games from the Dominican College Chargers in games played yesterday at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Penmen won the first game 33-5 and took the nightcap, 10-2.
Game One: DC scored three runs in the first inning sophomore Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) singled home a run and senior later Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) later scored on a wild pitch. The last run came home on a single off the bat of Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.). SNHU answered with two runs in their half of the first, but Dominican increased their lead to 5-2 with a two-run second as Colon singled home a run and a run later scored on a fielding error.
SNHU tied the game in the bottom of the second and scored runs in the third, fifth, seventh and eighth innings for the win.
Chidsey and Sanders had two hits.
Brandon Mology (Wall Township, N.J.) took the loss.
Game Two: In game two, DC tied the score in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Sanders and later Tyler Patterson (East Meadow, N.Y.) hit an RBI double to plate the final run of the game.
Junior Jaden Diaz-Lambert (Erial, N.J.) suffered the loss.
Dominican looks to bounce back this afternoon when they take on Southern Connecticut State University at The Ripken Experience.
