With the win, Dominican improves to 10-3 on the season.
Dominican began the contest with three consecutive three-point buckets as senior guard Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) recorded the first two and freshman Tedrick Wilcox (Pawtucket, R.I.) following with one to claim a 9-3 advantage. The Charger offense would continue to shine shooting 58.1% (18-31) from the floor and 60% (9-15) from the three-point arc in the first half to give them the 46-31 lead at the intermission.
DC would lead by as many as 20 points (54-34) with 16:51 left in regulation after a layup from Wilcox in the win. In the second half, the team shot 50% (13-26) from the floor and 52.4% (11-21) from the foul line.
For the game, Dominican shot over 50% from both the floor (54.4%/31-57) and the charity stripe (52.2%/12-23).
Junior Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) came off the bench to lead four players in double figures with 21 points and a team best 11 rebounds.
Ginyard finished with 18 points, three assists and two steals, while senior Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) tallied a team best seven assists, 12 points and five rebounds in the win.
Senior Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) also netted 12 points and seven boards. Donnell Hill (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored eight points and five rebounds.
Dominican returns to conference play this coming Sunday when they travel to Chestnut Hill College.
