CHARGERS TOP BRIDGEPORT FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE WIN
Bridgeport, Conn. (12/6/22) The Dominican University New York men’s basketball team improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the CACC after a victory over the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport.

The nationally ranked Chargers defeated UB by a score of 69-63 for their fourth consecutive victory.
Emmanuel Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the way with a career high 18 points and recorded a double-double by also adding team-high 12 rebounds. Smith scored 15 first half points and also recorded seven of his 12 rebounds in the opening half.
Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) finished with 13 points including a 3-5 mark from three-point range.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) finished with 12 points including a perfect 8-8 from the free-throw line. Copman also added seven rebounds and three assists. Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) scored eight points all from the free-throw line going 8-10.
Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) and Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) each added seven points off the bench. Sharif-Brown also finished with seven rebounds.
The Chargers added 25 points off of 24 Bridgeport turnovers.
Both teams played an even first half but the Chargers finished the half on a 10-2 run and led 35-25 at halftime.
The Chargers extended to a 14 point lead early in the second half which was their largest lead of the game. The Purple Knights used a 23-11 run to cut the Charger lead to two points.
The Chargers outscored the Purple Knights 14-10 down the stretch and closed out the victory.
The Purple Knights were led by Matt Turner who scored a team-high 20 points. Malcolm Moye finished with 13 points. Mason Williams added a team-high 10 rebounds. Ali Sumareh finished with 12 points while Kelvin Reaves Jr. finished with 11 points.
The Chargers will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Holiday Hoops Classic. The Chargers will take on Rollins on Sunday, December 18th at 2:00 PM.
