RALLY FALL SHORT AS #7 CHARGERS FALL TO #2 FALCONS
Manchester, N.H. (3/11/23) The #7 Dominican University New York men's basketball team outscored the #2 Bentley University Falcons, 19-7, over the final four minutes of regulation, but the rally wouldn't be enough as the Falcons held on for the 77-67 win this evening in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Regional Tournament.

Dominican concludes the season with an overall record of 21-9.
Senior guard Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Dominican with 16 points.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) tallied 13 points, six rebounds, while Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) scored 10 points, all in the second half.
Forward Emmanuel Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) blocked a game best and career high four shots, to go along with six rebounds, three steals and four points.
Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) recorded seven points and six caroms and Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) scored six points and five rebounds in the loss.
The Chargers trailed 40-21 at the intermission, but opened the second half with eight unanswered points to close the game to 11 points. The Falcons countered with a 17-2 tear to rebuild a 59-33 advantage with 9:22 to play.
Trailing 70-47 with 4:09 to go, Roundtree began a 16-1 run, capped off by a trey by Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.), to pull Dominican within eight points (71-63) with 48 ticks left. Bentley closed out the game with the final two points for the win.
