CHARGERS FALL IN CONFERENCE ACTION TO RAMS
Philadelphia, Pa. (1/6/24) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team suffered their third consecutive conference loss as they fell on the road to the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University at the Gallagher Center.
The Rams earn their first conference win of the season as they improve to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in the CACC while the Chargers fall to 9-5 overall and 1-3 in the CACC.
The Rams controlled the game from early on in the first half and used a 32-13 run to end the opening half. TJU followed up their strong first half with a strong second half to secure the win.
The Chargers were led by Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) finished with 14 points on 6-11 from the field and added two rebounds and two assists.
Javel Cherry (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) each finished the game with 13 points. Sharif-Brown also recorded a team-high five assists.
The Rams were led by Erik Timko who scored a game-high 25 points. Ashton Miller provided 21 points and six rebounds off the bench. Antonin Kemkeng recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards.
Hakim Byrd finished with 16 points and nine rebounds while Bismark Nsiah scored 15 points.
The Rams shot 66.0% from the field and 61.9% from beyond the arc while the Chargers shot 51.7% from the field and 36.0% from three-point range. The Rams held the edge in rebounds, assists, second chance points, and fastbreak points.
The Chargers look to bounce back next Tuesday when they visit Caldwell University for a CACC north division match up with the Cougars at 7:30 PM.
