RUBIN AND SILVA NAMED TO THE 2023 CACC MSOC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (12/13/23) Eighty-one (81) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 12 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
For Dominican, Eduardo Phillip Moreno Silva was named to the All-Academic team for the first time while this is the second time Jonathon Rubin was named to the All-Academic Team.
CACC semifinalist Georgian Court University had 12 honorees make the academic team as that mark paced the entire conference in the sport. Post University, which won its fifth-consecutive conference championship, followed with 10 Eagles making the academic unit.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Seven student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages (University of Bridgeport's Bruno Cakurs, Joshua Lilly, Josef Preci and Andrea Soliani, GCU's Sebastian Derflinger, Post's Nick Anagnostiadis and Felix Nassen).
♦ Twenty-four (24) student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Eight student-athletes were placed on the academic team for the fourth time in their respective careers (Caldwell's Sarah Costanza, Megan Feehan and Lucy Rennar, GCU's Aliyah Canfield, HFU's Gianna Penecale, Post's Kayla Agostinelli, Wilmington University's Sammi Bennett and Kailey Hyland).
♦ Holy Family University's Sean Touey was named to the CACC Men's Soccer All-Academic Team for the third time in his career.
♦ Twenty-four (24) were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The eight teams to qualify for the CACC post-season tournament combined to have 57 honorees make the all-academic team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
