MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEP THOROBREDS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/15/24) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team swept the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University, 3-0, this evening in non-conference action played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win the Chargers improve to 10-8 overall, while the Thorobred fall to 5-13 on the season.
Dominican won in consecutive sets by scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-23. In the match, DUNY recorded 35 kills, five service aces and 27 digs.
Freshman Phinehas Wiley (Cedarburg, Wis.) led all attackers with 12 kills and a .526 attack percentage, while also adding six digs.
Ayden Shaw (Centennial, Colo.) added 10 kills and a .400 attack percentage, while libero Dennis Ancheta (Aurora, Colo.) had a team leading seven digs.
Setter Luke Koster (Genevia, Ill.) had a match best 31 assists in the victory.
The Chargers return to action next Friday evening when they travel to Wentworth Institute of Technology.
