MEN'S BASKETBALL CHARGES PAST TIGERS

With the win, Dominican improves to 16-5 overall and 9-3 in conference play.
The Charger offense used a 24-7 run in the first half to turn a 6-6 game into a 30-13 advantage with over six minutes left in the half. A 10-2 closing half run extended the lead to 40-17 at the break.
Senior guard Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) tallied 13 points in the first frame, while Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) and Jalen Burgess (Spring Gardens, N.Y.) both netted eight points, with Burgess adding eight rebounds.
In the second half, DC would lead by as many as 38 points (61-23) following a dunk from Burgess with 12:57 left in regulation en route to the win.
Burgess and Rodwell paced four players in double figures with 18 points a-piece, while Burgess completed the double-double with 10 caroms and a team best five assists.
Copman finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points.
Dominican returns to action next Saturday afternoon when they travel to the University of the Sciences in a CACC game. Tip-off is slated for 3pm.
