COPMAN AND WILCOX EARN MAJOR AWARDS; FOUR CHARGERS RECEIVE ALL-LEAGUE RECOGNITION

(3/3/20) Dominican College's Jason Copman and Tedrick Wilcox earned major awards and four men's basketball players received all-league recognition as the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference Teams were announced today by Commissioner Dan Mara. The voting for the league's all-conference and major awards was conducted by the league's 14 head coaches in the sport.

(3/3/20) Dominican College's Jason Copman and Tedrick Wilcox earned major awards and four men's basketball players received all-league recognition as the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference Teams were announced today by Commissioner Dan Mara. The voting for the league's all-conference and major awards was conducted by the league's 14 head coaches in the sport.
Copman was named the Defensive Player of the Year, while Tedrick Wilcox earned the Rookie of the Year accolades.
The All-CACC First Team featured senior Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.), while Second Team honors went to Copman and fellow senior Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.). Guard Jonathan Garcia (Spingfield, Mass.) was named to the All-CACC Third Team.
Copman was voted as the league's top defensive player after ranking second in the league with 48 blocks and 14th with 36 steals. He dominated on the glass as the CACC's top rebounder, as he leads the conference in offensive rebounds (103), defensive rebounds (193), total rebounds (296) and rebounds per game (10.6). Copman, who hails from Cumberland, Md., has averaged a double-double throughout the season by also posting 10.4 points per game.
Wilcox, a forward from Pawtucket, R.I., was the named the league's top rookie after averaging 10.6 points per game during the regular season on 56 percent shooting from the field (4th in the CACC). He also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assist per game. Wilcox topped double-figures in 12 games, including pumping in a season-best 29 in a win over Felician on Jan. 29.
Rodwell makes his first appearance on the All-CACC First Team after receiving Second Team honors in 2019. He currently sits 12th in the CACC and second on the team in points per game. He ranks ninth in the conference in steals, 10th in assists, 11th in free throw percentage, 16th in points and free throws. Rodwell is currently eighth all-time in Charger history in points.
Ginyard earns his first all-conference accolades this season. He leads the conference in three-point field goals. Ginyard ranks third in free throw percentage, seventh and leads the team in scoring, points per game, is 10th in free throws and 12th in three point field goal percentage.
Garcia also makes his first all-conference appearance in 2020. He leads the team and sits third in the CACC in steals and is fourth in assists. The top defender in the DC arsenal, he earned one CACC Player of the Week honors and was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll twice this season.
