DOMINICAN RALLIES TO DEFEAT CALDWELL UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (12/29/22) The nationally ranked Dominican University New York men's basketball team rallied from a 10-point second half deficit to defeat the Caldwell University Cougars, 87-75, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division clash on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

(12/29/22) The nationally ranked Dominican University New York men's basketball team rallied from a 10-point second half deficit to defeat the Caldwell University Cougars, 87-75, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division clash on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win Dominican improves to 12-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play, while the Cougars fall to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.
Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) closed out first half scoring with two free throws to cut the Cougar lead to 48-43 at the break. Caldwell's Mark Heber began the second half scoring with five straight points to give the Cougars their biggest lead of the game, 53-43, with 19:07 left in regulation. Dominican charged back into the game with an 11-1 run, ended with a trey from Honis to tie the score at 54-all.
Caldwell led 68-65 with a little over eight minutes left, but the Chargers used a 13-1 run to push ahead 78-69. They claimed their biggest lead of the game with 44 ticks left as Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) hit two free throws to hold an 87-73 lead.
Senior Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) scored a career high 25 points (6-10 from the floor, 10-12 from the charity stripe) to lead four Chargers in double figures.
Javel Cherry (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) recorded a new career high 20 points (8-11 from the floor), while Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) added a new career high of 13 points and 13 rebounds in the win.
Honis finished with 12 points, while White had five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Caldwell was led by Darnell Evans who scored 19 points, with Heber finished with 15 points.
The Chargers will travel to Goldey-Beacom College this coming Saturday for their final game in 2022.
