Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) hit the game winning lay-up with 21 seconds remaining in OT.
The Chargers improve to 18-5 overall and 9-4 in the CACC after the win. The Lions fall to 10-12 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
Jaden Honis finished the game with a team-high 16 points on 7-13 shooting from the field. Emmanuel Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with 14 points and nine boards and recorded an assist on the Honis game winner.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) recorded a double-double by adding a team-high 11 boards and finished with 13 points. Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also added 13 points and recorded three assists.
Ryan Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) added eight points off the bench including two three-pointers while Javel Cherry (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) added six points and three boards.
Both teams played an even first half with GCU holding the largest lead of the half which was 10 points. The Chargers closed the deficit to six points by halftime.
The Lions led for most of the second half and held an 11-point lead over the Chargers with 12 minutes to play.
The Chargers used a 17-5 run to take their first lead of the game with less than five minutes to play.
Dominican held a five-point lead with 26 seconds remaining but the Lions scored the last five points of the half including a game tying lay-up by Titus Beard to force overtime.
Late in OT, Emmanuel Smith pulled down a big offensive rebound and found a cutting Honis who nailed the lay-up that put the Chargers in front 70-68 with 21 seconds left.
The Chargers kept the Lions off the board as time expired and Dominican secured the win.
The Chargers will return to action at home when they host north division rival Felician University on Wednesday, February 8th for a 7:30 PM tip-off.
