CHARGERS DEFEAT EAGLES TO COMPLETE SERIES SWEEP
Waterbury, Conn. (2/22/23) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team defeated the Eagles of Post University, 75-72, this evening to complete the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) series sweep.

With the win Dominican improves to 21-6 overall and 12-5 in CACC play, while the Eagles fall to 14-12 overall and 9-8 in the conference.
Forward Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) led three Chargers in double figures with 17 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Isaiah Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) recorded 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) pulled down a team best eight rebounds and added 13 points and three steals.
Guard Javel Cherry (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) scored nine points and three rebounds.
A Post three-point basket with 5:38 remianing in the first half gave them the 28-26 edge, but a 14-4 closing half run put Dominican ahead 42-30 advantage at the intermission.
Dominican never trailed in the second half and took their biggest lead with 3:54 left on the clock on a layup by Sharif-Brown to make the score 64-56. During the last minute of play, a 4-0 run by the Eagles cut the lead to 72-71 with 13 ticks left. Sharif-Brown went 2-2 from the free throw line with 11 seconds left and Honis scored the last point of the game on a foul shot for the 75-72 win.
The Chargers conclude the regular season on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Alliance University. Game time is set for 3pm.
