DOMINICAN FALLS TO CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE IN CACC QUARTERFINALS

With the loss Dominican now stands at 21-8 overall. The team, currently ranked fifth in the East Region, will now await a possible at-large bid to the NCAA East Regional Tournament.
Guard Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led all scorers with 27 points.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) added 18 points and had a team best eight rebounds, while Javel Cherry (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) netted nine points in the loss.
Forward Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) pulled down six rebounds.
The Chargers opened the contest with the first five points and later used eight straight points to take a 13-3 advantage with 14:47 remaining in the first half. An and-one play by Copman gave Dominican their biggest lead of the half, 18-4 with 11:15 left and he later hit a jumper with a little over minute left for a 33-23 lead. The Griffins scored the final basket of the half and Dominican went into the break with a 33-25 lead.
Chestnut Hill opened the second half with an 8-0 run to take the lead and would later lead 61-59 lead with 15 ticks left. A Johnson layup with with nine seconds re-tied the score at 63-all, but CHC closed out the game by going 2-4 from the charity stripe for the slim 65-63 win.
As a team, Dominican shot 40% (24-60) from the floor, 28.6% (8-28) from the three-point arc and 53.8% (7-13) from the foul line.
