CHARGERS DROP NON-CONFERENCE GAME TO FRANKLIN PIERCE UNIVERSITY

Hillburn, N.Y. (3/1/20) The Dominican College men’s lacrosse team fell to non-conference opponent Franklin Pierce University by a score of 16-4.

Hillburn, N.Y. (3/1/20) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to non-conference opponent Franklin Pierce University by a score of 16-4.

The Chargers fall to 1-2 overall on the season and the Ravens improve to 1-0 on the season.

Sean Daly led the way for the Ravens with four goals and added one assist. Owen McCormack and Colin Doherty each scored three goals. McCormack also recorded one assist.

Nathaniel Girardin, Austin Varney, Caleb Ikkela, Gavon Power, Mike Alibrandi, Stephen Ell all recorded one goal each for the Ravens. Justin Lorenzo earned the win for the Ravens and recorded 10 saves.

Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.) started in goal for the Chargers and recorded eight saves. Steffan Peabody (Brookhaven, N.Y.) entered the game for the Chargers and recorded 12 saves.

Luke Martini (Abington, Mass.) and Ryan Fischer (Monroe, N.Y.) each recorded one goal and one assist for the Chargers. Joe DeRosa (Jackson, N.J.) and Nick D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.J.) each added one goal. Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) recorded one assist for the Chargers.

The Ravens scored six unanswered goals in the first quarter and added two more to start the second quarter. DC ended the run with a goal by Joe DeRosa for DC. The Ravens answered back with three more goals and took an 11-1 lead into halftime.

Both teams scored three goals in the third quarter and then the Ravens added two goals in the fourth quarter to help secure the 16-4 victory.

The Chargers will look to bounce back when they return to action on Wednesday, March 4^th when they host the University of District of Columbia at 4:00 PM.
