MERCED WINS 400M DASH AT THE PRINCETON INVITATIONAL
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/17/19) Senior Michael Merced (Pearl River, N.Y.) won the 400m dash with a time of 50.71 at the Princeton Invitational held yesterday at Princeton University.

Senior Andrew Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) had the high finish of fourth place in the preliminiaries of the 60m dash with a time of 7.19 to qualify for the finals. Freshman Brandon Adams (Highland Mills, N.Y.) took 11th place with a time of 7.25. Lowell Pierrette (Elmsford, N.Y.) ran a time of 7.35 to finish in 16th place.
In the finals of the 60m dash, Pierre took seventh place with a time of 7.16.
The 200m dash saw senior Merced finish in eighth place with a time of 23.32. Pierre had a time of 23.94 to finish in 12th place, while Adams took 14th place with a time of 24.07. Pierrette ran a time of 24.43 to finish in 21st place.
The 440m dash also saw three runners finish in 16th, 17th and 18th place as Rollens Florvil (Spring Valley, N.Y.) had a time of 55.12, Pierrette finished with a time of 55.16 and Justin Estevez (Nanuet, N.Y.) ran a time of 55.42.
Cameron Whitton (Monroe, N.Y.) and Nicholas Beutel (Woodcliff Lake, N.Y.) competed in the 1000m run and finished in 13th and 14th place respectively with time of 2:55.73 and 2:56.01. Junior David Jeffers (Florida, N.Y.) took 19th place with a time of 3:18.97.
In the high jump event, Adams took sixth place with a jump of 1.88m (6 feet, 2 inches).
The Chargers will travel to the Armory Last Chance meet this coming Friday.
