CHARGERS TRACK AND FIELD COMPETE AT OCEAN BREEZE FAST TRACK MEET
Staten Island, N.Y. (2/23/24) The Dominican University New York men's track and field team competed at the Ocean Breeze Fast Track Meet held today at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Jumper Nicalis Williams (Cohoes, N.Y.) had the high finish of seventh place in the triple jump event.
RESULTS
- Freshman Williams had the high finish of seventh place in the triple jump with the jump of 13.52m (44' 4.25"). Kenney Lauredent (Pomona, N.Y.) took 10th place with a jump of 12.83m (42; 1.25") and Jeffrey Li Rivera (Suffern, N.Y.) finished in 14th place with a jump of 12.13m (39' 9.75").
- The 500m event saw David Castro (Nyack, N.Y.) take eighth place with a time of 1:12.06 and Sam Samala (Nanuet, N.Y.) finish in 11th place with a time of 1:14.13.
- In the long jump, Lauredent finished in 12th place with a jump of 6.23m (20' 5.25") and Li Rivera took 20th place with a jump of 5.57m (18' 3.25").
- Li Rivera took part in the 60m hurdles prelims and finished in 15th place with a time of 9.15.
- In the shot put event, Lawrence Ribeiro (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) finished in 25th place with a throw of 8.85m (29' 0.5").
- Senior Brian Thompson (North Bergen, N.J.) took part in the 60m preliminaries where he finished in 29th place with a time of 7.25.
- Thompson also finished in 29th place in the 200m dash with a time of 23.01.
- In the 400m dash, Samuel Fileen (Monroe, N.Y.) took 36th place with a time of 53.62, while Steven Smith (Yonkers, N.Y.) finished in 51st place with a time of 55.65.
The Chargers return to ation on Saturday, March 23rd when they travel to the Purple & Gold Invite, hosted by West Chester University.
