LADY CHARGERS BEAT COUGARS EARN SECOND STRAIGHT WIN
Caldwell, N.J. (2/22/20) The Dominican College women’s basketball team earned their second straight win after defeating the Cougars of Caldwell University by a score of 77-69.

The Lady Chargers improve to 13-13 (11-6 CACC) after the win and the Cougars fall to 7-19 (7-10 CACC).
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) and Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) each finished the game with a team-high 19 points to lead DC. Tomlinson also added 12 rebounds to complete a double-double and finished with four assists and three steals. Guerra added five rebounds.
Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) provided a spark off the bench with 17 points. Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) added nine points while Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) finished with eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished with a team-high seven assists.
The Cougars got off to a hot start in the opening quarter by scoring the game's first ten points. The Lady Chargers fought back to cut the deficit to three points by the end of the first quarter.
Both teams played an evenly matched second quarter and the Cougars took a 42-37 lead into halftime.
The Lady Chargers played a strong third quarter by outscoring the Cougars 20-12 in the quarter to take a slim three-point lead into the fourth quarter.
DC held off the Cougars in the fourth quarter by never giving up the lead and finishing off the 77-69 win over Caldwell.
Paula Dits led all scorers with 21 points and added nine rebounds and three assists. Rebecca Morrison completed a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Alessia Smaldone scored nine points and added nine assists and four steals.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action Wednesday, February 26th when they return home to host Concordia College at 5:30 PM.
