DOMINICAN HOLDS OFF CLIPPERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/26/20) The Dominican College women's basketball team held off a late fourth quarter rally by the Concordia College Clippers, 79-71, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican completes the series sweep of the Clippers and improves to 14-13 overall and 12-6 in conference play.
Sophomore forward Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led four Lady Chargers in double figures with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) netted 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while freshman Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) added 12 points and four assists.
Senior Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) contributed 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) chipped in nine points and seven boards and Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) grabbed seven caroms and seven points.
DC led 22-20 with just over five and a half minutes left in the second quarter when they put together a 9-2 run to go ahead 31-22. Suarez would end the first half scoring with a free throw to give the Lady Chargers the 32-23 advantage at the break.
In the third quarter, Dominican would lead by as many as 21 points (57-36) on a Suarez layup, but late in the fourth a 7-0 Clipper run would cut the lead to 74-67. The final five points for DC would come from the charity stripe as they held on for the 79-71 win.
Dominican will conclude the regular season this coming Saturday when they host Nyack College on Coach Baxter Court where the team will also celebrate Senior Day.
