EAGLES UPEND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL IN CACC NORTH DIVISION MATCH
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/10/19) The Dominican College women's volleyball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match to the visiting Eagles of Post University this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/10/19) The Dominican College women's volleyball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match to the visiting Eagles of Post University this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court.
Dominican (0-13, 0-7 CACC) won the opening set by the score of 25-20 to take a 1-0 match lead. DC led 23-20 when a Zoe Clifford (Suffern, N.Y.) recorded a service ace and then a kill to put the team at set point. A ball handling error by the Eagles gave Dominican the 25-20 win.
Post countered by taking the second set, 25-17 and pulled out a 25-23 third set win for the 2-1 lead. They closed out the match with a 25-11 fourth set win.
Senior Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) had a season high 11 kills, a .348 attack percentage and eight digs in the loss.
Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) added eight kills, a team high .538 attack percentage and four block assists.
Setter Sara Hayward (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) delivered a team high 19 assists, while Alicia Dennis (Kemp, Texas) had a eight digs and Mykalee Chambers (Bronx, N.Y.) had three service aces.
Dominican will travel to Goldey-Beacom College this coming Saturday.
