MEN'S BASKETBALL DOWNS CHEYNEY UNIVERSITY ON NIGHT ONE OF DANIEL SULLIVAN TOURNAMENT

(11/19/22) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team downed the visiting Wolves of Cheyney University, 92-65, this evening in game two of the 10th Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dominican. In game one action, Caldwell University defeated Molloy University, 102-76.

In game one action, Caldwell University defeated Molloy University, 102-76.
With the win Dominican improves to 4-0 on the season, while Cheyney falls to 2-1.
The Chargers never trailed in the contest while shooting 58.1% (36-62) from the floor. Dominican went 10-14 (71.4%) from the charity stripe.
Dominican held a 31-27 lead with a little over six minutes left in the first half and closed out the frame on a 7-4 spurt to pull infront 40-31.
Guard Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Dominican with 10 points (4-7 from the floor) in the half.
The Chargers began the second half on 12-5 run and would lead by as many as 29 points (92-63) with under a minute to go enoute to 92-65 victory.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) led three Chargers in double figures with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Johnson finished with 16 points, while Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 11 points. Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) dished out a game best five assists in the win.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow in the final game of the 10th Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Tournament when they face non-conference opponent, Molloy Univeristy.
