JOHNSON AND COPMAN COMBINE FOR 46 POINTS TO LEAD CHARGERS OVER SNHU
Manchester, N.H. (11/27/22) The Dominican University New York men’s basketball team earned a bounce back victory to improve to 6-1 overall on the season as they defeated Southern New Hampshire University 78-75.

Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with a game-high 27 points while also finishing with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Johnson added a perfect 9-9 from the free-throw line.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) added 19 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) added a team-high eight rebounds and scored 10 points. Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) and Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) combined for 15 points off the bench. Sharif-Brown also added four rebounds.
Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) finished with six points, four rebounds, and three assists.
The Chargers finished the game shooting 56.3% from the field as a team. Dominican outrebounded SNHU 30-23 and forced 14 turnovers.
Both teams played an even first half. Dominican's largest lead was eight points while SNHU's largest lead was six points in the opening half. The Penmen held a two-point advantage by halftime.
With just under five minutes remaining, the Chargers held the lead over SNHU. The Penmen outscored the Chargers 10-6 down the stretch to take a 73-72 lead with less than a minute to play.
With 38 seconds left, Johnson hit two big free-throws to put the Chargers back in front. Sharif-Brown and Copman also added late free-throws to help the Chargers secure the win.
The Chargers return to action this Wednesday, November 30th when they travel to Felician University for their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
