CHARGERS SCORE EIGHT UNANSWERED GOALS TO SECURE THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

The Chargers scored eight unanswered second half goals to complete the come from behind victory and improve to 1-4 on the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Gerardo Caltagirone (Tappan, N.Y.) recorded 19 saves to help Dominican secure the win and earn his first victory of the season.
AIC goalkeeper Hayden Gaudette recorded seven saves but suffered the loss.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Jason Vickery who scored three goals all in the first quarter. Devon Walker added one goal in the second quarter which gave AIC the 4-0 lead. AIC took the 4-0 lead into halftime.
The Chargers fought their way back in the second half by scoring all eight goals in the half. The Chargers scored eight unanswered goals, three in the third quarter and five in the fourth quarter.
Three separate goal scorers in the third quarter got the Chargers within one goal. Cole Vencak (Smithtown, N.Y.) tied the game early in the fourth quarter and James Conklin (Warwick, N.Y.) put Dominican ahead.
Eric Greenwood (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) scored back to back goals to extend the Dominican lead to 7-4. Kyle Benedetto (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored the eighth goal for the Chargers as Dominican solidified the 8-4 win.
Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Benedetto each finished with two assists. William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) scored the first goal of the game for the Chargers. Brendan O'Connor (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Jason Allen (Middletown, N.Y.) each added one goal and Allen also recorded one assist.
Brian Barker (Wyckoff, N.J.) added a team-high seven ground balls. Jake Merkling (Deer PArk, N.Y.) and Patrick Roderka (Warwick, N.Y.) combined for 10 faceoff victories.
The Chargers return to action on the road this Saturday, March 11th when they travel to the University of the District of Columbia for a non-conference game against the Firebirds at 12:00 PM.
