Philadelphia, Pa. (10/14/23) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team dropped a CACC contest to the Tigers of Holy Family University this afternoon on Tiger Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Chargers fall to 1-11 overall and 1-6 in conference play. The Tigers improve to 4-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play.
David Arteaga (Middlesex, N.J.) started in goal and made four saves but suffered the loss. Alessandro Guzzinati (Ferrara, Italy) and Marcos Penaherrera (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) also saw time in goal for the Chargers. Guzzinati made three saves while Penaherrera made two saves.
Cheikh Diouf started in goal for the Tigers and recorded the win.
The Tigers scored four goals in the first half and then followed with five goals in the second half. Tajhay Williams led the way for the Tigers with two goals and one assist. Williams took a team-high five shots and recorded four on goal.
Niccolo Moretti (Lecce, Italy), Thiago Micki (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Henrique Zachello (Recife, Brazil), and Aiden Fregoe (Owensboro, KY) each recorded one shot for Dominican.
The Chargers return to action on Tuesday for their final non-conference game of the season when they travel to Mercy University to take on the Mavericks at 2:30 PM.
