WHITTON NAMED TO CACC MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (5/12/20) Thirty-four (34) standouts on Monday were named to the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 34 honorees represent all 12 schools that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the conference.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (5/12/20) Thirty-four (34) standouts on Monday were named to the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 34 honorees represent all 12 schools that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the conference.
Dominican College's Cameron Whitton makes his first appearance on the CACC Men's Track and Field All-Academic Team. He maintains a grade point average of 3.55 in his major of education.
Thomas Jefferson University's Tyler Savage paced all honorees on the list with a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average in his major of biology. Ten (10) more individuals posted GPAs of 3.90-3.99 on the 2020 squad.
Fifty percent of the individuals (17 total) were named to the 2020 CACC Men's T&F All-Academic Team for at least the second time in their respective career, including eight who were named to the team for the third time.
University of the Sciences led the way with six honorees, while Georgian Court University and Jefferson each had four individuals recognized on the team.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution. Requirements for eligibility for the all-academic teams were slightly altered this spring only, as the 2020 spring season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Post University of Waterbury, Thomas Jefferson University, University of the Sciences, and Wilmington University.
