THREE PLAYERS NAMED TO CACC WOMEN'S LACROSSE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

(5/7/20) Forty-five (45) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. New Haven, Conn. (5/7/20) Forty-five (45) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 45 standouts represent all 10 schools that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the conference.
Dominican College had three players named to the All-Academic Team. Senior Jenna Fox earned her third All-Academic accolades, while junior Laurel Kennedy and sophomore Rebecca Nutting receive their first All-Academic honors. Fox maintains a grade point average of 3.85 in her major of education, while Kennedy holds a 3.51 gpa in her major of nursing. Nutting maintains a grade point average of 3.78 in her major of history.
Five student-athletes on the squad posted cumulative grade point averages of 3.90 or higher, including Samantha Murphy (Caldwell University, 3.91), Haley Norwillo (Chestnut Hill College, 3.97), Jessica Rogers (Georgian Court University, 3.95), Rachael Sepcic (GCU, 3.94) and Jen Spencer (Thomas Jefferson University, 3.94).
Seventeen (17) individuals were named to the 2020 CACC WLAX All-Academic Team for at least the second time in their respective career, including 10 of those who made it for the third time.
Georgian Court, which has won the last three CACC Championships (2017-19) led the way with eight honorees, while Jefferson and Post University followed with seven recognized athletes apiece.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution. Requirements for eligibility for the all-academic teams were slightly altered this spring only, as the 2020 spring season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Post University of Waterbury, Thomas Jefferson University, University of the Sciences, and Wilmington University.
