CACC ANNOUNCES 2011 SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, CT (6/14/11) The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has announced its All-Academic team for the 2011 spring athletic season today. A total of 100 student-athletes among the 14 conference schools earned a place on the list, which is seven more than 2010.

DOMINICAN WOMEN WIN 2010-11 CACC RESTAINO CUP AND MEN FINISH SECOND

New Haven, CT. (6/1/11) The Wilmington University men’s athletic program and the Dominican College women have won the 2010-11 Alfred R. Restaino, Sr., Cups, according to an announcement made by Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Commissioner, Dan Mara. The Wildcats won the men’s race with 10.7 points, while the Chargers narrowly surpassed Philadelphia University on the women’s side with 11.0 points.

PETERSON TABBED ECC MEN'S LACROSSE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Central Islip, NY (6/1/11) The East Coast Conference announced the 2010‐2011 Male and Female Scholar‐Athletes of the Year, as well as the Scholar‐Athletes of the Year for all of its sponsored sports at the ECC Awards Dinner on May 25. Dominican's Jesse Peterson has been named the Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete.

Orangeburg, NY (5/31/11) Dominican College baseball player, David Bartuska, has been named to the 2011 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division II All-American Team as was announced today. Bartuska earned Third Team accolades after previously being named to the All-Region First Team.

First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Orangeburg, NY (5/19/11) Dominican College baseball player, Dan Robinson, has been named to the 2011 National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) All-East Region Second Team as was announced by the NCBWA. MOORE TABBED CACC CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Orangeburg, NY (5/16/11) Dominican College baseball player, Justin Moore, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 15th. Tom Sirois of Post University was the other Co-Pitcher of the Week, while Wilmington University players, Mike Godwin and Jamie Treml, were named the Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively.

CHARGERS BASEBALL FALL IN CACC CHAMPIONSHIP

New Castle, DE (5/14/11) The top-seeded Dominican College baseball team fell to the second-seeded Wildcats of Wilmington University, 10-3, this afternoon in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game played at Frawley Stadium With the loss Dominican ends their season with an overall record of 28-17.

SOFTBALL ELIMINATED FROM NCAA EAST REGIONAL TOURNAMENT

Brookhaven, NY (5/14/11) The fifth-seeded Dominican College Lady Chargers softball team was eliminated from the NCAA East Regional #1 Tournament this afternoon after suffering a 5-2 loss to the fourth-seeded Owls of Southern Connecticut State University in the day's final game. Earlier in the day, Dominican defeated and eliminated the top-seeded Golden Lions of Dowling College, 1-0.

TOP SEEDED CHARGERS SPLIT ON DAY TWO OF CACC TOURNAMENT

New Castle, DE (5/13/11) The top-seeded Chargers of Dominican College split on day two of the 2011 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Tournament being hosted by Wilmington University. DC lost their first game of the day, 3-0, to #2 Wilmington University, but rallied to win the elimination game, 7-0 against #3 Post University.

SOFTBALL FALLS ON DAY ONE AT NCAA EAST REGIONAL

Brookhaven, NY (5/13/11) The #5 Dominican College softball team fell to the fourth-seeded Owls of Southern Connecticut State University, 1-0, this afternoon on day one of the NCAA East Regional being hosted by #1 Dowling College. In the first game of the day, #8 Merrimack edged #1 Dowling College, 3-2.
